What I wish was different
Management had issues from the start. Issues over scheduling turned into full-flung shouting matches with threats of physical violence. A culture of homophobia existed among camp directors, with LGBT teens made to feel unwanted and ostracized. The initial contract had promised a single 24-hour period off every week- this only occurred once in the five week work period. Emergency sick days were deducted from pay, near consistent staff turnover, they lacked insurance on commercial buses transporting children...the list of ills with this organization are numerous.
