Recruiting and Human Resources

May 2021 - January 2022 • New York City, NY

What I liked

This internship allowed me to gain hands-on experience in both recruiting and HR. I began by learning to source candidates, maintain the firm's calendar and client databases. Once this was mastered I was given more responsibilities including screening candidates and helping to prepare the firm's training programs. All of my coworkers were great to work with and took the time to help me get the most out of my internship. My school schedule was also taken into account and I never felt overwhelmed juggling work and classes. I definitely recommend this internship to anyone looking to get experience in the field of recruiting or human resources.

Recruiting & Data Analysis Coordinator

April - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

The amount of hands-on responsibility I was given; the opportunities to learn new things and advance; the small, woman-owned business environment.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more opportunities to network outside of the office. But, I am still grateful for the couple of times I was able to do so, as well as the lasting connections I made to my bosses and coworkers.

Advice

Speak up when you have questions, and don't be afraid to say yes to new opportunities.

HR & Recruiting Intern

August 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

The small office environment at Wisnik ensured my complete immersion in this internship. Because I was (at times) the only intern in the office, I received a lot of hands-on training and mentorship from my coworkers. I was able to quickly build my skills, and get the hang of the duties and responsibilities of the job.

What I wish was different

At times, I think I should have taken more initiative regarding my own learning. For example, if I ran out of tasks, I would sometimes hesitate in approaching my superiors for my next assignment. I should have been more confident when asking for more responsibility.

Advice

Make sure that you're ready and willing to learn! Take things into your own hands - ask for help when needed, but understand when to be a little more independent.
