I liked being able to do hands-on research in an actual lab. I liked learning all of the new laboratory techniques and analysis, as well as lots of new material pertinent to the research.

Approach your professors about the potential of doing research with them! Summer research at Williams in the sciences is really awesome and you learn a lot about conducting independent work.

What I liked
I absolutely loved working with professor Loehlin on a field that I was truly passionate about and interested in. The independent nature of my work and the feeling of running my own project was great.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more time to work on this project over the summer.
Advice
Choose a field of research that you are interested in and engage with the professor before applying for their lab to get a feel for what your experience will look like.

Staying on campus over the summer for a research job is an incredibly fun and rewarding experience.
