I love working with kids and enjoyed how organized we were throughout the entire summer.
What I wish was different
I wish we had more time to work with some kids so that we could specialize the camp even further to suit everyone's needs.
Advice
One thing my boss told me was to make the games as enjoyable for the counselors as it is for the kids, which can be extrapolated to a more professional setting.

Head Summer Camp Counselor
June - August 2018 • Philadelphia, PA
What I liked
The kids I worked with (a group of 20+ 7 year olds) all came from different backgrounds and brought their personal experiences to camp. While tiring, the impact I make on working with kids for 8 weeks is the biggest reward.
What I wish was different
I wish that the pay was more. I had to take a second job as a restaurant hostess to actually accrue some financial gain.
Advice
For future teachers, working at a camp may not be ideal for income, but the experience you get will be worthwhile on a resume as opposed to working in a restaurant when future schools are looking to hire you. Low pay is better than no pay.
