I liked that the internship was very hands-on. The Investigators brought us to watch court proceedings, conduct social histories, visit clients in the Detention Facility, and meet with attorneys.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have served more a purpose rather than just shadowing the Investigators. I think I would have benefitted from conducting my own legal research or learning how to conduct social histories earlier on so I could've fine tuned those skills.
Advice
I would suggest for those participating in a similar experience, to give it your all. You get out what you put in so I think there is a lot to be learned if you're excited and passionate about the work you're doing.
