Whitehouse Post

Intern

June - August 2018 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I learned a lot about the in's and out's of the company, such as how they work with clients, how people within the company work and communicate together, as well as many useful and professional editing tips.

What I wish was different

I wish there were more shadowing sessions with editors and other employees, however, the extra free time gives you the opportunity to explore other aspects of the company as well as look into projects that you normally wouldn't be assigned to.

Advice

Be social. Although it may seem intimidating at times, go out of the way to talk and make friendships. This can make your experience a lot more exciting.

Production Intern

January - June 2016 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I was able to see how the entire operation worked and had a lot of experience and chances to try a lot of different tasks. The entire company is so sweet and willing to help you professionally grow for your next experience.

What I wish was different

There was more open communication when doing something that needed to be changed in the future, was corrected later in the internship.

Advice

Don't be afraid to pop your head into an edit bay to ask what someone is doing. Everyone is willing to share (as long as clients aren't in).
