The Minneapolis office staff were super helpful to me whenever I had any questions. They were also very engaging with me and made me feel very welcomed. The scope of work the Minneapolis office performs is very diverse which made each day exciting. I also liked how they made me work on estimates, safety plans, and work schedules, this allowed me to really learn the construction industry on a personal level.
What I wish was different
Their were some days were their was not much to do, but I would ask other project managers and superintendents if they need any help with their work.
Advice
If you are interested in restoration, this is the company for you! The scope of work performed is diverse offers many challenges which are fun to overcome. Keep yourself busy by asking your branch manager, project managers, and superintendents. They will almost certainty have tasks for you to work on.

Assistant Sales/Project Manager
June 2020 • Ridgefield, NJ
What I liked
The environment at Western is very positive and encouraging, and the major goal of your coworkers (other than getting work done efficiently) is to help you learn. They invest in every employee and try to make you the best you can be by exposing you to various experiences.
What I wish was different
I wish I didn't intern here in a pandemic. Other than that, I loved it.
Advice
I'd advise anyone interning anywhere to make the most out of the experience even if you don't think this is the career path for you because you never know what can come out of an internship opportunity.

Intern
May - August 2020 • Omaha, NE
What I liked
I liked the people that I worked with. They were very friendly and the environment was very comfortable to be around. I never felt like I was hated by my coworkers and I really enjoyed that experience.
What I wish was different
I wish I was given more work to do. At times work could be slow, and finding things to work on would be difficult, but manageable.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share is to find ways to keep yourself busy. If you are given nothing to do ask your coworkers if they have anything for you to do, and I am certain they will give you a task to do.
