People I work with, and technical nature of the position
What I wish was different
Advice
Going into a new job they assume you know nothing. Personality sells, companies want to know your somebody who will fit in with them, work with the team, and is manageable.

Research and Development Chemist
May - September 2018 • Milford, MA
What I liked
I was given a project which emulated the kinds of projects scientists and engineers within my team worked with on a daily to yearly basis. I really enjoyed the degree of independence that was granted in my time at Waters.
What I wish was different
I wish I had a more robust background in LC/MS & analytical chemistry applications before starting this internship. The first few weeks were spent getting me "up to speed" in the theory and literature surrounding analytical chemistry instrumentation and applications.
Advice
Even if you don't think that you have experiences which pertain to the internship/job you are applying for - just go for it! I didn't have any experience in LC/MS but they gladly trained me as I expressed the desire to learn, grow, and work with others.

Customer Experience and Design Intern
July - August 2018 • Milford, MA
What I liked
Although this internship was not centered towards the career path I would like to take, it was a great experience which allowed me to experience what it is like to work in an office setting with a team. I was exposed to much of the machinery that Waters produces and learned a lot about what the company does as a whole which was very interesting to me. I learned how to manage my time very efficiently and learn new skills quickly.
