I love being able to network with faculty and students within the REU program. It provided me with a steady schedule as it was five days a week.
What I wish was different
I chose to live off campus due to my project being a town away, but I would choose to live on campus to be able to build close connections with the other students in the program.
Advice
The Laboratory of Atmospheric Research (LAR) allowed me to partake in Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at WSU over the summer of 2022, and I would suggest anyone with a interest in science/research to apply as it is a great opportunity!

What I liked
I enjoyed spending a lot of time in the field, learning lab and computer data analysis skills, presenting my work at the end of the summer, becoming close with the WSU REU cohort, and living in Global Scholars Hall.
What I wish was different
I wish I had continued expressing interest in even more projects to have learned even more.
Advice
Mentors will be happy to bend this experience toward whichever aspect of the projects their students are most interested in.
