I was given the chance to work and tackle stories like any other reporter, and I was treated as a full and important member of the newsroom.
What I wish was different
I wish I had had a more consistent workflow and had the chance to experience what reporting on a daily beat was like.
Advice
Being willing and available to take spur-of-the-moment stories gave me the chance to cover some of the most interesting topics during my time at the Union-Bulletin, and definitely improved my experience.
