In 2011, the medical center was re-designated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet hospital, the most prestigious honor and level of recognition awarded for nursing excellence in national and international health care.
VCU Center for Clinical and Translational Research, funded by a $20 million grant from the National Institutes of Health, is part of an elite consortium of 60 nationally prominent research institutions that focus on translating research into real-world applications.
