I liked the regular hours, I worked outside every day, I learned about flowers, had nice coworkers, the crew leaders taught me a lot about flower planting and bed care, and there were opportunities for leadership within a crew.
What I wish was different
I wish there was a bigger parking lot, because sometimes I was parked in by a member of another crew, and I couldn't leave until that other crew got back and those people moved their cars out of the way. I wasn't paid for that waiting time. I also wish I had received information about rain days when I was first hired. No one told me that the managers send out a big text when there is a rain day, and somehow the people in charge hadn't provided the managers with my phone number, so I was not informed of the first rain day and I drove all the way out there at 6:45am only to be told work was cancelled.
Advice
Start as early as possible so you can make the most out of flower planting season and learn as much as possible within the summer. And always ask questions- no question is a stupid question.
