I am currently a nursing student at Lewis. I started working at Chicago Ridge as a dispatcher almost 2 years ago. Eventually I became and Auxiliary Officer. Earlier this year I was asked if I wanted to go to the part-time academy. I knew it would be a tough task while being a full time nursing student, but I did it anyway and graduated right at the conclusion of summer.
What I wish was different
I would not change a thing. As a veteran of the United States Marine Corps I love a challenge. After i graduate from Lewis i will be able to tell people I am a Military Veteran, Police Officer, and Registered Nurse. That makes me feel accomplished.
Advice
Never stop striving to be a better you. Life is never easy, but the rewards can be magical. Figure out your purpose (mine is helping people), and do not stop until you achieve it.
