Supportive bosses and peers with the ability to ask questions always. Very good pay. Focus on my learning.
What I wish was different
Cubicle isn't great, would've liked to be able to work on my own laptop/switch up seating

Data Analyst Intern

What I liked
The projects you take on as an intern at VDH impact real-life health policy and the healthcare outcomes of Vermonters; for a student interested in public health, healthcare, policy, and government, this is an amazing glimpse into how our systems run and change. Thanks to working with VDH and the EMS office, I now know what I want to do with my career!
What I wish was different
I wish I had reached out to faculty ahead of time to find out about obtaining credit for my work: as a junior now considering this very field, the experience has been invaluable, but academic credit never hurts!
Advice
Reach out and get involved! There are so many branches of the state government, and people are caring and interested to help improve the healthcare of Vermonters and their access to services: there are so many ways to get involved.
