I wish the communication from my boss was better because it has left me "out of the loop" with recent decisions.
Advice
It is about who you know; I got this job through a close friend who has a relative working at the business. Do not be afraid to talk about what you are doing to those close to you, it could open up opportunities you did not even know were there.
