The clinic I worked at had an amazing team, and were so welcoming for me. They taught me so much and frequently gave me opportunities to practice new skills.
What I wish was different
I wish we had had more staff members at the time, so I could have focused more on honing skills specific to that job position.
Advice
Don’t be afraid to say no thank you. Working in the medical field can be intimidating, and you don’t have to take every opportunity to learn something new if you’re not ready for it.

I learned a lot a lot about animal welfare and the business behind it. I was also able to assist in surgeries, exams and preparing vaccinations and medications.

Nothing. I enjoyed my experience.
Advice
Wear comfortable shoes and be okay with being covered in fur all day.

It is a teaching hospital so both techs and doctors take alot of time to teach their staff and interns.

I wish it was more accommodating to also going to school full time.

I really enjoyed enhancing my customer service skills with this job. Answering phones, making appointments and constant interactions with customers helped aid my job experience. The employees were wonderful and helpful as I was learning!

What I liked
The community and being around animals. I was able to learn and adapt around different breeds of dogs and cats. This job was a great window to see what it is like being in the domestic animal industry.
