What I liked
I love this job more than any job I have had! Working for University Recreation has been a great experience and it is preparing me for my future career. I am working alongside with the Fitness Program Director (which is the job I want for my future career) and I am getting great experience. I work with Personal Trainers, Fitness Specialists, and Fitness Attendants for UREC in which I organize schedules, manage the Fitness Center, and manage all personal training. The team that we have is great and we have created a mood and atmosphere that works well together, is very positive, and generates new ideas, . It is an amazing and fun experience to head the Fitness Program at UWM and I can't think of a better place to work.
What I wish was different
The only thing I would like to be different is if we had a bit larger space to work with. I think the staff that we have working for the Fitness Center are very eager to expand and the ideas that we all have, collectively, could be expressed better if we had a larger Fitness Center (weight room and cardio room specifically). The mood that we have created as a team is amazing and with a more broad area we can expand even further with the ideas we have.
Advice
If I were to give some advice, I would say that this position requires a lot of dedication and patience. To head a Fitness Program means that you must be accessible at all times and must be wiling to work with many different employees. You must work hard to meet deadlines for projects and have the patience when working with other employees.

Rarely interact with patrons except for the odd question.

Nothing. It’s pretty much exactly as advertised.
Advice
The library has lots of departments so if one job doesn’t fit well it’s possible to change jobs without actually leaving the library.

Great teamwork workflow and teaching by older design student employees and supervisors. I received a lot of design knowledge and experience outside of the classroom. I also love the proximity of this position since it's located at the Union, I fit it into my school schedule M-F.

What I liked
I like the job and the people I work with. The people are great, nice and friendly. The job allows me to learn more about how to research computer problems and to do more than basic troubleshooting when dealing with a problem on the computer.
What I wish was different
I wish I didn't have to work so many hours and would have been able to enjoy my summer break more.
Advice
I say that while paying bills is important, your mental health is too. If you need a full day off to recover, be selfish and take it. Your work experience will brighten and you will feel refreshed as to just pushing through it.
