What I liked

Ever since I started working for UpMerch last year, I have absolutely loved everything about it. The flexibility, the commission, the atmosphere and energy of the staff, and of course, the opportunity to grow as a business and sales woman has shaped me and helped me find my passion for sales and entrepreneurship. It is not a difficult job for me because I enjoy prospecting and meeting with customers, and the unlimited earning potential we are granted only motivates me to do more in this position. I highly recommend this opportunity with UpMerch for anyone and everyone in college who is pursuing sales and/or entrepreneurship!

What I wish was different

Advice

Being involved on campus obviously helps a lot as a sales partner, but most of my success in this job has come from my own innovation and persistent attitude with organizations on campus. There does not need to be a specific event or reason to create a shirt order; you just have to come up with one first and get it out there! Don't wait for opportunities or for people to come to you, make them yourself!

What I liked

UpMerch was an amazing summer internship for me that lead to a sales partner role, which I currently hold. My favorite part about working for UpMerch, besides the amazing management, would be the ability the company offers you to make your own decisions. My earning potential is limitless and I have full reign to choose my own clients. To sum it all up, for Freshman / Sophomores looking to get into the sales business or even simply looking to make extra cash do not hesitate to apply! For upper class-men this is still an amazing opportunity to help make quick cash and learn a ton in the process!

What I wish was different

The only complaint I can think of from the summer internship is my commute was a little long because I would travel into the city a couple times a week. But, if you are prepared to do this / live in the city already, the office is super nice and a great place to work.

Advice

Do not hesitate to jump on opportunities, you never know when potential lies around the corner.

What I liked

I enjoyed being able to "run" my own business and learn all of the processes behind the immediate sale. This internship truly helped me further my sales and communication abilities. Upper-level management is very interactive with the sales team and are more than eager to assist on any projects or issues and are very active in your process and long after.

Advice

This position requires you to reach out to people you may or may not know through text, email, and social media. It will seem strange at first to do this, but it will become easier to do!

I really enjoyed the unlimited earning potential based on how hard you work. It was really motivating to see that what you put in is what you get out in a job like this. Learning valuable sales skills from experienced people was also very beneficial.

I wish there was slightly more structure in learning the ropes of the position because I often found myself making small mistakes, even a few months into the position.

You get out exactly what you put into this position. If you decide to work at UpMerch, soak everything up like a sponge because it will make the experience so much more rewarding working as a sales partner!

What I liked

I like the working environment in Upmerch. Even though it remote and online, the constant stream of services to it sales partners and customers are top-notch. More resources and learning opportunities everyday with fun and interactive section with management and colleagues which foster learning opportunities.

What I wish was different

The only thing I wish was different is to working face to face or onsite to have the experience of dealing with customers in a different culture specifically learning the sales trend of the white culture.

Advice

Through this experience, I have gain more knowledge and confidence in public speaking and presentation skills...and helping customers and myself gain our maximum satisfaction.

What I liked

UpMerch allowed me to have a flexible schedule that allowed me to work on my own time. Not to mention how awesome my boss was. UpMerch greatly increased my skills in communication, customer service, and marketing. This position allowed me to be creative in the sense that I was able to create custom designs from scratch.

I love how at UpMerch, the full time staff really cares about their employees. I always have access to help or advice from Liz and the rest of the team. I had no idea what to expect going into the internship, but I have learned far more than in the classroom. Also, there are mental health workshops and virtual parties to have fun with the people you work with.

What I liked

UpMerch is growing extremely fast and it is exciting to be a part of a business with bigger successes every day. Also, there is a lot of flexibility in how you choose to spend your time and how you go about strategizing marketing techniques to potential clients. This was a great learning experience to find out what works and what doesn't when it comes to marketing. Something really important I learned was communication skills and how to effectively interact with coworkers and clients online since this internship is 100% virtual.

Due to COVID, we could not meet in person to all meet each other and I wish that we had the opportunity to. But we do utilize zoom and teams to get to know one another frequently.

I wish the pay schedule was a little different but in the end, I received all the money I made, just in odd time intervals.

What I liked

UpMerch's Summer Internship was an amazing experience that offered in depth sales training from sales professionals and guest speakers. It's hybrid work schedule with only two days in the office allowed me to refine my skills and prospect potential clients while still having the opportunity to enjoy nice summer days. As a current out of office Sales Representative, I have the opportunity to make sales, expand my network, and continue my sales education with UpMerch while taking classes. Lastly, working for UpMerch has been a ton of fun with its great company culture and people, and I would recommend this position to anyone looking for a good side hustle!

What I liked

Working at UpMerch has helped me improve upon my sales and communication skills exponentially. I have had the opportunity to network with some big influencers and athletes, and through working with these types of clients I have learned the importance of keeping your customers satisfied. I also love the entrepreneurial aspect of this job, and that you have the ability to work on your own schedule. The amount of success you achieve is directly correlated with the amount of effort you put into the position. There is truly unlimited earning potential at this position, and I would recommend this job to any college student looking to enhance their entrepreneurial and sales skills.

Advice

I would advise new sales partners to network with influencers! There is so much untapped potential in this market that many sales partners seem to ignore. I would also say to stay active and collaborate with your colleagues on order ideas.
