What I liked

Showing students and families my department is extremely rewarding. I love to see students who are interested in a creative field come and pursue their interests at such a young age, and be able to share with them my experience as a student.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have more consistent hours. There isn't anything I or the department can do to control this, but it doesn't feel like I have a job purely in the sense of commitment (though I love it so much you could also consider it in that fashion). Another thing I would appreciate would be an easier timesheet system, preferably one that's all digital. Having to print out and sign something every month gets old, especially for multiple positions.

Advice

Do what you love, and find a way to share it. I have had fantastic experiences sharing with students my passions, and I think they love it too. I wish more of them would show up to meet with me, because it is such a rewarding experience to be able to talk with them at a personal level what they want to do, and what I can do to help them achieve their goals.
