I enjoyed that my project was easy to do anywhere, so I was still able to have a fun summer. A lot of that was dependant on my research topic, and it was nice that I could tailor the research to fit my interests and education level.
What I wish was different
Unfortunately COVID 19 caused a lot of setbacks in deadlines and such so the project got dragged out longer than expected.
Advice
Whether you will enjoy your research or not heavily depends on your research topic. Choose a topic that you're passionate about, even if there is little data. There's always a way to make something work if you're willing to put in the effort to do so.

Assistant Hall Manager
May 2018 • Superior, WI
What I liked
I liked my job’s responsibility and the amount and level of perfessionalism that was given to me in a student position. I enjoyed my co-workers and my flexible schedule and hours.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have had more of an idea of what the job description was at the beginning, but I figured it out as time went by. Asking clarifying questions constantly helped me.
Advice
It was an eye opening and very rewarding experience. I’m very glad I get to carry it through the school year and that Residence Life allows me to move up the job latter and work with more responsibility when wanted.
