Lots of freedom and I got to learn a lot about biobanking and new programming tools.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more coworkers. I only had a boss.
Advice
Expect to learn a lot and come in with a good attitude!

Undergraduate Research Assistant
June - August 2019 • Seattle, WA
What I liked
I loved getting to spend extended time in lab with friendly, engaging mentors, listening to discoveries in current research.
What I wish was different
Weekly the work was very repetitive. I enjoyed it for the most part, but by the end of the summer was ready to be done doing the same tasks on a weekly basis.
Advice
It is a great opportunity to learn about lab practices and develop lab safety skills. For people interested in pursuing a career in research or medicine, I strongly recommend spending a summer in lab.
