Graduate Research Assistant
August 2018 • Omaha, NE
What I liked
I was able to meet with my mentor daily which is apparently uncommon at most universities. Because of this, it was the most productive summer I've ever had. I was able to work on multiple research projects and develop technical skills relating to MATLAB, motion capture, and the scientific method.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to test out of undergraduate courses. I came from an engineering background so I was forced to take anatomy I and II which were far too basic and didn't really add any value to my education.
Advice
There are multiple professors/researchers who are looking for undergraduate and graduate research assistants. Even if you're unsure of what you want to do with your life, reach out to people around campus and ask if anyone is looking for help.
