About University of Michigan-Dearborn

The College of Education, Health, and Human Services offers a large and growing list of academic programs. In the area of Education, we have multiple routes toward initial teacher certification by the state of Michigan's Department of Education, with graduate programs providing opportunities for current teachers seeking to refine and expand their skills and to augment their credentials. In addition, we offer administrative preparation for educators interested in moving into leadership positions in the schools. Through its doctoral program, the college offers four distinct emphases all responding to selected applicants' interest in applying research to real-world community challenges.

In the areas of health and human services, the college has extended its resources and expertise in service to the metropolitan area beginning with its first approved program, Community Health Education, designed to prepare professionals to promote health and wellness in community and organizational settings.
