It’s a very non stressful job to have. Flexible with hours, and a nice building to work in.
What I wish was different
We are pretty short staffed, so it’s hard to get covered for a shift.
Advice
Work efficiently and make good friends of coworkers!

What I liked
This program was part of the College of Arts and Sciences Summer Research Program for Underrepresented Minorities and Women. I received free on campus housing, a metro card, and a stipend. I was able to continue the research on which I worked throughout the year, but be paid for doing so.
What I wish was different
Meals were not included.
Advice
This experience is great for students already conducting research who wish to continue their experience over the summer.

What I liked
I applied to this position right after earning my B.A. in Psychology; I knew I wanted to pursue a Ph.D. after gaining research experience and this job has allowed me to do exactly that. I really enjoy the team I work with and the research studies I have been involved in.
What I wish was different
If you have a car, then this will not apply to you, but as a commuter, I rely on the metro to get from Point A to Point B. Occasionally we go to different sites to test. It's sometimes stressful arranging for a ride to get there.
Advice
Do not be shy to engage with colleagues who are older and more experienced that you. In my experience, everyone has been helpful and willing to share experiences and advice. And do not be afraid to ask questions! Many many questions :)
