What I liked
Good experience, learned how to code, and I applied it to polymer physics.
What I wish was different
I wish I could commit more time to it. Simulations are difficult, and produces a lot of wasted data.
Advice
The learning curve for any research position is steep at first, but well worth it in the end.

What I liked
I was working in a sleep lab alongside other undergrads as well as grad students, post-docs and professors which was an amazing learning environment. I was able to collect and analyze data from participates which I had never done hands on before.
What I wish was different
Honestly, I can’t think of anything I would have changed. I got more out of the position than I was expecting and couldn’t be happier to return next summer.
Advice
Speak up! It’s always impressive when an undergrad makes a comment in a room full of intellectuals.

I liked that I had autonomy. Every problem and decision was left up to me, and that provided many opportunities for me to develop a deeper understanding of what I was researching and the research process in general.
