I loved being able to combine my passions for molecular research and neuroscience. I was able to experience what it is like to be a grad student. I loved running my own project, learning something no one else knew, learning new techniques, and sharing my research.
What I wish was different
I wish the program had more social activities with the other interns.
Advice
Start looking for research internships early! Also try to network with the letter recommenders you are thinking of asking. One of my letter writers was a graduate of the University of Iowa and that helped me get my internship.
