What I liked

I like the general environment of my work place. It's very vibrant and welcoming and there are a ton of resources available to student workers. My coworkers and supervisors are extremely friendly and accommodating, and my overall job, which is to coordinate various university-wide events has been an incredible learning experience.

What I wish was different

I only wish the training was a little more hands-on as majority of it was discussion based, due to which I felt a little underprepared. But my supervisors guided me through when I started the job.

Advice

Be open, compassionate and creative. If you have the availability, volunteer to lead and help out in other events. Guide your coworkers if they need help, and do so without judgement. Always be inclusive and encourage people to participate, don't leave people out. And most importantly, don't be afraid to ask questions! If you have even the smallest of doubts, do not hesitate to reach out to your supervisor or even your coworkers for clarification. It' super important to be thorough in whatever you do.
