I loved how welcoming and kind the UFCU staff was since day one. They made us feel that our roles as interns at UFCU mattered just as much as any other full-time employee. The company culture went a long way for the intern team as it encouraged us to have a stronger work ethic. I also enjoyed my experience with my manager-- she served as a great mentor in and out of the work place.
What I wish was different
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to work from home. I only wish we could of had internship experience in person.
Advice
Do not be afraid to reach out for help or advice from the UFCU staff. These people really do want to see you succeed and would be more than happy to help in any way they can. Also, take advantage of every opportunity that UFCU gives you and make the best out of your time with them!

What I liked
The culture of UFCU is really what makes it so great. Everyone is so willing to share their experiences and help along the way. The team has sought out ways to benefit my development, even when it added more to their plate. I love the level of responsibility and creativity we are afforded and the collaboration I get to take part in.
What I wish was different
I wish we had been able to work in person so that we could experience walking up to someone's desk and having a quick chat, but the teams have done a great job at developing the online experience to fit this as closely as possible.
Advice
It is important to really put effort into seeking out what you want out of your experience. If you aren't sure what there is to learn - ask! There are opportunities across the company, regardless of your department or role, to develop your skills in something you may not have even thought about, but it is up to you to make that happen!
