What I liked

I really enjoyed that Universal Marketing gave me a different type of work environment that I was used to in order to gain more HR experience. I am learning so much and I really appreciate it. I was thankful that they allowed me to do a remote position. The staff is so kind to me, and even though I am not in the office, they are always available to help me complete my assignments. I am also getting the chance to work with different databases, which I also really enjoy doing.

What I wish was different

I do wish I could do in-office work, but with everything going on right now as of Summer 2020, I understand why not.

Advice

Specifically for people who want to pursue an HR related career, try to get as much HR experience within different work environments so that you can continue to learn different work styles, HR functions, and databases. Most importantly, try to learn as much as you can and always make yourself available for any kind of responsibility, this will give you more opportunities to gain more experience.

What I liked

I like the people who we work with is on an everyday basis, because they carry such a great energy. I started off as an intern and moved my way into a full time role. I think it was great to see the growth potential so early on. I also learned a lot about the industry along with administrative roles within the company.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have been more clear on my personal and professional goals early on. I found that the management at Universal was more than willing to help me in both my personal and professional goals, but because I wasn't as open about what I wanted to get out of the internship it took longer to get the points across.
