This was the best job I have ever had because of the opportunities it gave me. I was able to be part of the successful transition of new students to UNC and create lifelong friendships with my co-workers. I also learned more about myself through this role than I could have ever expected. I gained facilitation skills, professional development, and grew in my social justice knowledge/journey. Making connections with students and spreading Bear pride was an amazing experience. New Student Orientation has a passion for growth and development. I was constantly challenged by my peers and supervisors which sparked growth and learning all while being encouraged to take care of myself. NSO understands the importance of mental health and self-care.

Advice
Be yourself. Exude authenticity. Give it your all. Take the time you have off to truly take care of you and recharge. It can be draining and it is so incredibly worth it.
