What I liked
I really enjoyed that I was given independence to investigate research questions that were relevant to me and fit my lab style. Each intern was presented a broad topic, and we were encouraged to dig deeper into scientific literature to develop our own questions on the topic. Then, we were able to construct an experiment outline based on what we knew and what we wanted to learn how to do. Being able to follow our personal curiosities in a lab setting was the most beneficial to figuring out what kind of research and scientific approaches interests me the most.
