What I wish was different
I wish I was paid, had a proper mentor, had benefits, and that the internship had better structure to support my learning. Any progress made was entirely dependent on the heroic, unpaid efforts of the interns working together with the company owner. In short, although this was an experience I sorely needed, I will never take an unpaid internship again. I am worth more.
