I really liked being able to receive a closer experience to the hospital environment and following a patient closely from intake to getting different treatments and blood draws. It allows me to get used to the work pace at the hospital as well as practice speaking to patients and family members, which is critical in a nurse's job.
What I wish was different
I wish there was more hands on experience in this job, because as a sitter I am unable to facilitate nurses in giving care and can only help patients hit the call bell and prevent injuries if they need help with anything.
Advice
It is really important to remain proactive on this job and take the initiative to ask nurses and tech aids about their experience and receive advice.
