UCR, Extension

Community Assistant

August 2020 - January 2021 • Riverside, CA

What I liked

At first I like the atmosphere and how friendly everyone was. Its a decent job for someone who needs a place to live as well as they are okay with less than minimum wage. I like that my fellow coworker was able to help show me around.

What I wish was different

I wish that the UCR Extension followed their contracts that was written out. As well as the supervisor telling the employee upfront that they were the only hire and would have to do all the work by themselves. There was poor communication which thus not solve any current situations. I wish that there was a better experience for this work study. I felt like I was overworked and did not have a higher up to speak to about this. I would call my supervisor or email them and their would be no answer.

I advise that you make sure you read the contract and ask questions before agreeing to work for the UCR Extension.
