The MSP program did an excellent job transitioning the research into an remote, online format and I learned so much. My supervisors put time into teaching us, ensuring we understood our research, and encouraging us to explore as we conducted research. I loved learning about e.coli and being able to use bioinformatics to study their evolution over time.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to be in the lab, but the remote format was doable and saved a lot of driving time.
Advice
From this experience I learned to say yes. To take every opportunity and new responsibility offered to you, as you never know what you may learn or gain from that experience.
