The flexibility was unbeatable. I worked at my own pace and could take time off for camping trips, vacation, etc. I was paid for the hours I spent learning to code which helped motivate me to dive it. I was also given freedom to direct my research so that it was something I was passionate about.
What I wish was different
Higher pay would be nice since it is lower than I've received at civil engineering internships
Advice
work hard in classes and your professors will notice. The professor I am working with approached me about this opportunity and it has been great. The people you work with makes all the difference.
