My supervisors and coworkers were very dedicated to their work and to promoting our professional advancement. They not only encouraged their interns to experience multiple fields of research, but also allotted us the time to help out in other labs.
What I wish was different
It was such a unique experience that I wish I didn't have to leave.
Advice
During the weeks that you're out on the boat, it's tough work (physically). But if you can get past the sea sickness, it's really very rewarding.
