U.S. Bank

Community Banking Intern

June - August 2019 • Omaha, NE

What I liked

I got to see first hand what working in a corporate environment is like and I got to work with very experienced professionals who helped make my summer a very beneficial learning experience.

What I wish was different

I wish I had networked more with some of the employees in the bank outside of my specific segment of the company.

Advice

Always apply for positions, even if you think it may be a long shot. I did not think I was going to even be considered for the role as I had been told no by the company before, but I applied and they gave me an interview opportunity so always give yourself a shot.

Credit Assistant Intern

May - July 2019 • Grand Junction, CO

What I liked

The hands on opportunities to further develop my knowledge, the exploration of various sectors in banking to identify where my interests are, the network I was able to build

What I wish was different

I experienced some lulls in assignments or some that seemed rather unnecessary or irrelevant

Advice

Take advantage of every opportunity, because you never know what other opportunities may develop from them. For me, I was offered a full time position following graduation.
