A better base location would be ideal, perhaps by the coast.

Air Force reserves has great benefits including tuition assistance, healthcare, and competitive pay while perusing a college degree.

Space Operations

What I liked

Working, instead of going to school, gives applicable real world experience. The Air Force has so many different programs going on; there is something there for everyone. At the beginning of my summer I started doing cyber security defending U.S satellites, and towards the end I was designing rendezvous proximity operation maneuvers to be used to defend U.S. space vehicles while being attacked.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have taken more time to network and reach out to other offices to see what programs they were working on.

Advice

During an internship do everything you can to go the extra mile. If you have to stay late or come in early to finish your work, do it. When you're about to present something to your boss, put your self in their shoes. Make sure that what you do is as applicable to your boss's needs as possible, and it is easy for your boss to understand/use.
