Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge

About Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is striving to see the end of the big cat and bear trade, within our lifetime. Allowing these magnificent animals to enjoy life without fear, abuse, abandonment, or neglect; giving them the freedom to be wild. Through education, advocacy, and quality care, we are making strides in changing the mindset of a nation. TCWR is a GFAS accredited sanctuary rescuing animals from dire situations, offering them a forever home, and providing the best care possible in captivity. We have created a place that these animals can finally get the care and piece of freedom that they deserve. With your help we will be able to expand our public educational outreach, education programming, advocacy work, and continue to rescue animals. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we are able to rescue animals in need and provide them lifetime care through the generosity of our donors. We are a hands-off and strict no contact facility. As a true sanctuary we do not buy, breed, sell, trade, or allow contact with the animals in our care. Safety is our priority; we have strict safety guidelines that every single one of our team members must obey. Our internship program began in 1997, and since its inception, more than 350 interns from all over the globe have completed the program. Not only are we providing a quality background for individuals in the animal care industry but we also recruit team members from our own internship programs. We recruit for animal care and education team from within our internship pool.
