Sales associate

June 2019 • Salisbury, MD

What I liked

A really chill environment, you get to experience retail without being overwhelmed. You are introduced to a vast variety of jobs that you are expected to do independently.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more days to “train”. I had training one day and then was left completely alone, when I had a question I would have to page my manager who was most likely in the back.

Advice

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, it’s better safe than sorry. There’s a ton of stuff to learn and questions help.

Store Associate

May - August 2018 • Fort Collins, CO

What I liked

Very relaxed atmosphere, required good organizational and people skills. Shifts were only four hours and the clientele was generally pleasant

What I wish was different

There was lots of turnover and it was difficult to get a shift covered

Advice

Even though it was relaxed, it was important to still work hard and put effort in. It was a real drag to work with people who weren’t putting in that effort, and it’s important to be thankful for the atmosphere rather than take advantage of it
