What I liked

This internship helped develop my skills with recruiting, on-boarding, and working with HRIS software. In addition to tasks given to me, Kyle and Amanda were both adamant about asking me what I was interested in learning, and then providing me with opportunities to do it! They wanted this internship to be as beneficial as possible to me and were both patience and helpful to me. This internship bridged the gap between learning things in school and applying that knowledge in real world situations.

What I wish was different

I cannot think of anything I would change about my internship experience. Having a career in HR means every day will be different and full of surprises, and I liked the fact that I would show up to intern and be handed different tasks every time!

Advice

I came into this internship knowing that I would be directly reporting to a recruiter and I knew that I was not planning to pursue my career in that direction, however I was excited to see what I would learn. I am now confident that the technical and soft skills I have learned during my time here will be beneficial with any HR job I take after graduation! TRS is a great place to learn and explore what your interests are with the support of professionals!
