It has been a pleasure working at Troy Law. At first, it might take sometime to get used to the fast paced environment and the programs that you are required to use, but once you get the hang of it, it is actually very intuitive. What I liked

I loved working at Troy Law and learned a tremendous amount. The tasks are very hands-on, and the team is always generous in sharing their expertise and kindness. The office is fast-paced, lively, and friendly. I got to help out with different parts of the litigation process. It was extremely rewarding to have the chance to talk to clients and understand how we can assist them in lawsuits involving wage theft, employment discrimination, etc. If you want to learn more about legal work, deepen your understanding of what impact it can make, and give back to communities in New York, interning at Troy Law is a wonderful experience.

What I liked

In approximately three months at Troy Law, I worked on a plethora of interesting and insightful assignments for many of the firm's cases. For example, I drafted legal memoranda and affidavits in support of motions for conditional collective certification; drafted letters to court; conducted legal research; communicated with clients and opposing counsel via email, phone, and in-person; observed and assisted the firm's attorneys in strategizing for court conferences, depositions, and mediations; and assisted in many administrative assignments.

with a big case-load is that the work can at times be overwhelming

What I liked

I highly recommend interning at Troy Law. If you like getting your hands dirty with real case experience this is the place for you. At past internships I have worked at, it feels like the work they have interns do holds no actual value for the company. At Troy Law you feel like your work is not only valuable to the people you work with, but the clients as well.
