I wish that the training conducted by the corporate employees at the beginning was better.

Customer service can be a hard field to work within but it’s extremely important to always remain calm and collected and be as friendly as possible.

What I liked
The facility was really clean and you didn't leave work feeling greasy and gross (like with some other food service jobs). My managers gave us a fair amount of flexibility with our hours. Employees also get 50% on all menu items!
What I wish was different
When I first started at Tropical a shift manager had just quit and nobody stepped in to properly train me for a few days, leaving me a bit lost. Working day shift was much better than working evening shift as well. It was better organized.

Be prepared for anything to happen. Whether its the fire alarm going off or customers upset because of something that we cannot control. Always be prepared for an issue and finding the solution.
