Definitely recommend working in some aspect of your future career field before you graduate. It was a huge help when it came to interviews for my current job. I was able to talk about previous experiences in the health care setting.

I wish I could have stayed longer with Mercy Health but I had to take a job offer that was closer to home ( EMT-B with Life EMS Inc)
Advice
Helping others in need is one of the most rewarding actions on this planet. Even if you just smiled a stranger, it could change their life forever in a good way. Think about it, someone might be having the worst day of their life but a total stranger showed a simple act of kindness and now their day now has a ray of light shinning down on them, just because you smiled at them.
