Intern
May - August 2018 • Livonia, MI
What I liked
My coworkers. They made me feel comfortable, important and included! I also enjoyed the flexibility of your work schedule. We had to try and get 40 hours a week but there was no set time for when we started and ended each day. The opportunities given to me to attend different meetings and to give my own feedback were fantastic. I was so privileged to work with this talented group of people and cannot express how grateful i am for this internship experience. This is such a phenomenal company to work for!
What I wish was different
The hiring process was a little longer than I anticipated but otherwise nothing!
Advice
Make connections with your coworkers and do not be afraid to give your opinion or ideas when working collaboratively!

The work environment is friendly and welcoming. All staff is willing to help you when you’re new and aid you in your ongoing growth in your role.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have gotten the job sooner because the experience has been incredibly helpful in theory application in school.
Advice
Work for what you want! I didn’t think I would get this job but went out on a limb and ended up with it. It is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time.
Do more research on healthcare before your internship- you’ll have at least 3 weeks after your exams since it starts!

What I liked
The environment and coworkers, getting to look at the behind the scenes and inter workings of a major hospitals.
What I wish was different
Communication between management and employees.
Advice
If you come to work everyday with a “I don’t want to be here” attitude the time will only drag on and your work will suffer as a result. If you come to work with a “Let’s see what the day holds” attitude your work won’t feel like work and you’ll be a better employee.
