I really liked that I was trusted and given a lot of work that most staff does. There was a lot of creative room for me. I felt as though I was highly valued and that my life experiences and gifts were utilized. I also felt as though my input and opinions were heard and valued. I loved the staff and learning alongside them because they had an extreme amount of wisdom in both life and the line of work. They made me feel like family. It was an extremely stretching internship were I was trained well and also learned a ton by being thrown into the work.
What I wish was different
There is nothing specifically that I wished to be different. More pay is always a desire, but I am still shocked that this is a job that you can be paid to do in general.
Advice
I would tell someone to be flexible and willing to fail. There is a lot of patience that is also needed as well as being okay with the uncomfortable moments. This is where some of the biggest areas of growth happen.
