About TRC Companies

Who We Are

TRC is a global consulting, engineering and construction management firm that provides technology-enabled solutions to the energy, environmental, infrastructure and government markets. TRC has more than 5,000 employees located in over 140 offices throughout the United States, Canada, the UK and China, and we are ranked #20 on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 500 Design Firms in the United States.

Our Culture

An entrepreneurial approach is not just welcomed, it's encouraged. You will be asked to think outside the box, and explore new technologies, ideas and business trends that contribute to your personal and professional development. If you are looking for an experience that takes you out into the real world at client sites, TRC is a great place to “get your hands dirty.”

Diversity & Inclusion (D&I)

TRC understands that as a brand, an organization and a people, we need to be a part of the change we want to see in our world. Equality is part of the foundation of our company, it is part of our mission/vision and values and is written in our Corporate Code of Conduct and our Anti-Discrimination Policy. We recently reaffirmed these beliefs and our commitment to continue to build on our current and past actions and to do more through the activities of our D&I Network and further changes in our outreach and recruiting.

We are committed to sustainable practices, and we work hard to manage our own footprint. We work on transformative projects for sustainable areas like renewable clean energy, climate action, sustainable infrastructure and smart city design. At TRC, you can grow your career while making an environmental impact.

In one year, our Energy Efficiency group managed projects that saved 3 billion kilowatt-hours. That’s equivalent to…

-All 5,000+ TRC employees being carbon neutral for 37 years
-All TRC employees' household electricity consumption for 77 years
-TRC employees planting 79 million new trees

TRC's Intern Program: What to Expect

You'll be immersed into our culture, learn our processes and procedures and get a true sense of who we are and what we have to offer. You'll also work alongside an advisor/mentor who will support you day-to-day. You'll work on a variety of projects with your assigned project team, perform technical calculations, participate in field work, and attend business meetings. You'll learn about the inner workings of TRC by attending lunch and learns for Marketing, Quality, Safety, and Applied Technology. Finally, you'll collaborate on a capstone project with your fellow interns. Our most recent Intern Class capstone project was a sustainability project to generate new ideas for sustainability in our business.

Hear what this year's class had to say about the TRC Intern Program:

“It was a great feeling to be a part of a team working towards a goal and having a sense of responsibility and pride in the work we did on our presentation.”

“It was awesome that TRC wanted to hear about our work we were doing in our offices and our research for the sustainability project.”

“This summer I have gained irreplaceable professional experience that will assist me in further progressing my professional career.”

Electrical Engineering Intern

May 2019 - August 2019 Liverpool, NY
“learning what real world engineering is. being paid to learn was really nice. ”

Integrity Intern

June 2019 - August 2019 Houston, TX
“I liked how it was in a different state than what I currently live in. This made me branch out and do things out of my comfort zone that I probably wouldn't have done if I was still in Grand Rapids. The connections I made there were very helpful in deciding what I want to do in the future. I learned so many new things while working there and some things that weren't even related to my major. I was able to sit in at bid meetings with engineers and proposal coordinators and was encouraged to speak up and be involved in the proposal and bidding processes. I think this makes me more well rounded and able to adapt to different positions and environments in the workplace. ”
