I loved the hands on experience handling a Twitter with over 150k followers and an Instagram with nearly 60k followers. I got to get hands on experience covering content over major Track and Field events such as the NCAA championship and Track and Field Olympic Trials.
What I wish was different
I wish I was paid. I was putting it nearly 15 hours of work per week and over 50+ hours of work during the Track and Field Olympic Trials.
Advice
Put yourself out there! Definitely know your worth and if you are afraid of the capabilities of a job, be honest and say you're willing to learn and perfect a new skill, that's what internships are for.
