Lifeguard

June 2019 • Bellmore, NY

What I liked

I got to use valuable skills and protect people in case of any danger. I was able to help people which is something that I love doing and was able to save lives.

What I wish was different

I wish that the work load was more spread out. Throughout the course of the day, there were times where there was too much to do, or nothing at all to do. I would have rather everything to be more spread out.

Advice

Stay confident on the stand, and in any aspect of your life. And if you're not, fake it. Faking it will help you to believe that you actually are confident and will help you to be more ready for the job.

Camp Counselor

October 2014 • Lido Beach, NY

What I liked

It is life changing to work with people with disabilities. Anchor is a program that you must volunteer for 3 years in order to get paid and be hired for a job there, so it may not be ideal for college students. Encourage younger people to do it though!

Advice

Open yourself up to working with and learning more about people with disabilities. They will change your life!
